In my latest audio enabled post, I take a look back at my journey from Russia, across the Trans-Siberian railway into Mongolia. If you’re viewing this through a RSS reader, there’s a chance it hasn’t shown up –- I’m working on overcoming this gremlin, however in the meantime I invite you to visit the original post.

I’m completely new to the audio media, so all feedback is extremely welcome. I’m learning as I go, and a little constructive criticism would really aid me in honing this segment of the site into a crowd puller.

This weeks reading stems from my time on the Trans-Mongolian, you can view the original post here. The rest of the audio is completely ad lib. Is the tone right? Would you like to see it on iTunes? Too long, too short? Do you have suggestions for content?

Ant… well, what can I say?

The podcasts rock! (I’m now gonna go pimp ‘em out)

Keep on producing ‘em, and I especially like the fact that the story is nestled between ‘current’ info.

Thanks for the feedback Mr [F]ox — I was beginning to think no one was listening! And congrats on being the first to take up the CommentLuv.

People, I highly recommend the [F]oxymoron site — and not only because he’s plied me with compliments. If you like to be entertained by offbeat and multigrain writing — take yourself off to his site.

Yes, I described it as multigrain.

First of all, I’d like to say I thoroughly enjoyed that! It’s like listening to an audiobook of your jounrney. I would love to see your podcast on iTunes, but you might want to consider copyright and what The Wombats would think of your liberal use of their music…haha.

    Keep it up!

Brilliant comment Darcy, with some very valid points — especially on the subject of copyright, I hadn’t really considered that at the time! Um, I guess it’s free advertising for them, right?

I’m still finding my feet with podcasting, and have thoroughly enjoyed the afternoons I’ve devoted to each of them. It’s a great media, and really helps me assess the visual aspects of my writing.

Thanks again for the words of encouragement.

OK – follow up, just to clear this up. I’ve removed The Wombats awesome track ‘Moving to New York’ as Darcy was quite right, I didn’t have permission, and until I get that I’ll respect them as artists.

Because, hey, if someone rips off my work without the decency of asking I wouldn’t be best pleased and I’d probably roll them in a lawsuit.

So… sorry. A silly oversight on my part: I was moving to New York cos I’ve got problems with my sleep. But now I’m not.

I am just sitting around and envying people smart enough to do podcasts–let alone videos. Oh, dear, one more thing to learn. And I was so happy when it was just me and a pad of paper and a pen.

Thanks for the comment Vera, it’s not as hard as you’d imagine. Apple make it relatively easy with their GarageBand application.

I’ll always cherish the written word over the spoken; which is one of the main reasons the podcasts will usually be built around my own written articles.
