Ok, so I won’t use this first post as an official launch as I haven’t actually told anyone about the site yet! BUT, I guess I should get utilising it for it’s initial purpose. That’s the thing with being relatively new to building websites/blogs, you get so carried away with the process that you forget why you started it in the first place.
So, let me bring you up to speed with where I’m at in a couple of sentences. I’m Ant, a 24 year old wannabe-nomad from the not-so-tropical island of Great Britain, namely England. As I write this I’m enjoying the sunshine of my first week off, as a redundant print buyer. In fact I just came back from a whizz around on my bike to the river that I love so much, the Nene, where I befriended boaters and soaked up the English springtime in all it’s glory.
But come July I’ll be heading out on a round-the-world (RTW) voyage, swapping the Nene for the Ganges, Amazon, Mississippi and any other major length of river known to man. Until the point that I actually do jet off, I’ll be posting about the planning that’s involved in such a project. Anyone who tells you it’s as simple as packing your brightly coloured backpack with a lightweight sleeping bag and a tatty toothbrush is lying. You don’t need a sleeping bag.
The stereotypical “Under Construction” icon along the right is staying put until such time that I satisfy my perfectionist personality and have completed every nook and cranny that I envisaged the moment I told myself to build ‘Trail of Ants’. Suggestions and constructive criticism are most welcome through comments or by dropping me an email full of love and devotion. Following this debutant blog I’ll make the site available to the Google masses and implore you to make an orderly line and refrain from petty violence unless absolutely necessary.
Wow, that was easy and everso slightly invigorating!
